From 17 February, the Atelier des Lumières presents the dreamlike work of Marc Chagall, his first years in Paris and his experiments in America. An immersive exhibition that underlines the strength of the artist’s body of work and its theatrical power.

Brides and grooms, musicians, animals of all sorts and chimera have taken up residence at the Atelier des Lumières. From 17 February to 7 January 2024, the Parisian digital art centre, Culturespace, presents the bountiful world of Marc Chagall (1887-1985) in an original exhibition by Gianfranco Iannuzzi. With 300 paintings, sculptures, stained glass windows, drawings, ceramics, mosaics, costumes, photographs projected on the walls and floor of the former Chemin-Vert foundry, the event retraces the artist’s work spanning the 20th century. Chagall’s colourful and dreamlike universe comes to life through the interwoven details of his works set to a background of classical music, jazz and klezmer (traditional music of the Ashkenazi Jews).
