In Bordeaux, the city centre is modelled on the Haussmann style of Paris. It is interesting to note that Haussmann himself was an elected representative of the Bordeaux region, constantly travelling back and forth between Paris and Bordeaux. Philippe Jan-Beroca's illustration thus combines the Haussmannian notion with the presence of wine and women, in keeping with the illustrator's series of giant postcards.
