A MomArts event presenting the work of three renowned World photographers.
IN BRIEF:
Photographers featured: Maxim Korotchenko, Christian Kretschmar, and Michel Monteaux.
Maxim Korotchenko is an award-winning freelance photographer who has worked for many mass-media and is currently focusing on the lives of inhabitants of the Volga Delta and the surrounding areas in southern Russia. With his camera, Maxim Korotchenko transforms daily routines into new representations, full of new meaning, through unexpected, magical moments in life, brimming with surprise and imagination.
Christian Kretschmar, a travelling photographer and musician specialising in interior and architecture photography, seeks out the unintended beauty of cities and landscapes around the world. An abandoned parking lot, an unexpected view on the skyline or just an old brothel in Greece: functionality becomes beauty, the coincidental turns into visual attraction.
Michel Monteaux, a professional photographer for over 30 years, has worked for the press, including Libération, Marie-Claire and Le Monde, as well as for companies such as Total and ArcelorMittal. His work portrays his relationship with others, the environment and society, seeking to share what he feels about current geopolitical upheavals. Through photography, Michel Monteaux questions the mysterious links between beings in their environment and the symbolic orders that bring them together.
